First picked up a guitar way back in 1984 - and made such a racket with it on the way home that the bus-driver threatened to kick us off if I didn't shut up. Subsequently showed some interest but little aptitude for music throughout the rest of my childhood, until I first heard The Prodigy's "Out Of Space" in 1993. From that point on, I started showing major interest in music, but still no aptitude for it at all.
I first started making my own music with OctaMED in 1994. Then spent too many years plugging away with essentially redundant technology while gradually teaching myself the basics, and, almost as a by-product, wrote hundreds of songs. Eventually in 2001 I started upgrading my gear and set out on the ruinous road to hopeless poverty and addiction to making music. After a couple of years dallying with Cubasis, I got my hands on a copy of Renoise and then there was no way back.
I've been a hopeless fuck-up ever since. :-)
Rude Corps came into being some time in 2004 when I first started putting my stuff on the interweb. Due to some very kind and patient people on a couple of music community sites, I actually started learning in earnest and eventually even started showing some aptitude for making music. From late on in 2007, I was so overcome with hubris that I even managed to get hold of a guitar again, to go with the MIDI junkie antics.
To date, it's been a pretty fruitful trip. By my last reckoning, I have written over 1000 songs in total, ranging over a sizeable chunk of the musical landscape. I dare say I've outdone Moby for eclecticism anyway. There's been a load of albums and EPs, many remixes of other people's work, several collaborations (ranging from single tracks to full albums) and an experimental side project called Esoteric Jones. There is still much more to come as well, but unless I can get a lend of a time machine from someone, you'll have to wait a bit before I can tell you about that. ;-)
